Juan, This series notebook goes with the latest sata hard drives so
that it will not allow you to install the Winodws OS on the notebook.


Joyce:
To resolve the issue you need to Disable sata.


Joyce:
Could I proceed?

To resolve the issue you need to follow two steps :
Step 1 : Disable sata by following steps :
1. Turn on or restart the notebook.
2. Press the F10 key when the "HP Invent" logo appears on the screen. This will open the BIOS menu.
3. Select the "System Configuration" tab.
4. Select "Disabled" for the "SATA Native Support" item.
5. Press F10 to Save and Exit. Choose Yes for "Save configuration changes and exit now

Step 2 : Now you can install the Windows OS on this notebook

Note :
1) You must create the recovery discs from the notebook .
2) Once you reinstall the Winodows XP Pro on this notebook , you can only get the drivers from the
recovery cd or latest can be available from HP.com and you can not be able to load or install the
preinstalled applcications on the notebook as they came as preinstalled on the notebook only
